Ordering Real Property Records

You may purchase copies of recorded documents (official records) in person, by mail, or online.

In Person

Copies can be purchased at the Clerk-Recorder's Office during regular business hours. Most requests can be processed upon submission. Payments must be in the form of cash, check, or money order. Debit and credit card services are available for an additional convenience fee.

By Mail

1. Provide at least one of the following identifiers:
   • Name(s) of parties identified on the documents
   • Document Date
   • Document Number
   • Document Title
2. A daytime phone number in case there is a question or problem
3. Number of copies being requested
4. Include a check or money order payable to “Sutter County Clerk Recorder” for the appropriate amount.
5. Mail the information and payment to the address below. To ensure accurate delivery, include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Information on Payment Types

1. Check or Money Order - Checks and money orders should be made payable to Sutter County Clerk-Recorder. Personal checks must have the account holder's name, address, phone number, account number and check number preprinted on them to be accepted. Please Note: The Sutter County Clerk-Recorder's office participates in the Sutter County District Attorney's Check Enforcement Program.

2. Credit or Debit Card - Most major cards are accepted. An additional convenience fee will be charged at the time of payment for over-the-counter purchases.

3. Cash
