American FlagsThe County Clerk's duties include responsibility for recording documents affecting title of real property located in Sutter County, conducting all elections, maintaining voter registration files, issuing of marriage licenses, processing passport applications, filing fictitious business name statements, filing notary oaths, registering process servers and professional photocopiers, performing wedding ceremonies, and other related work. The County Clerk also serves as Clerk of the Board of Supervisors.

Official Records Index and Fictitious Business Name Search

You may search and order Sutter County's Official Records online. Once you've located a document to order, add it to your online shopping cart, go to checkout, and print the Clerk - Recorder Document Order Form generated by our online system. This form can then be mailed to the Clerk - Recorder for processing.

Apply for a Marriage License Online

You can now apply for a Marriage License Online - It’s easy and saves time.

Alternative to a Marriage License, Domestic Partnership Registry through the State of California.

Once you complete the online application you can come into the Sutter County Clerk Recorder’s Office to obtain your marriage license. The application will be stored with the Clerk Recorder for 10 business days. For fees and additional information please refer to the marriage license page.


Clerk/Recorder Fee Schedule

The Current Fee Schedule details the cost of Birth Certificates, Death Certificates and other such items / services normally provided by the Clerk Recorder's Office.
