Statement of Goals

Floodplain Management and Flood Information The Board of Supervisors and Yuba City Council are committed to the following goals to improve flood protection for Sutter County residents:

We are committed to work with the State and levee districts to strengthen levees;
We are committed to pursuing certifications needed to protect our "preferred status" insurance rates;
We recognize that flood protection is critical, and are committed to the hard work with many partners;
While the State is primarily responsible, we know we must fight for levee funding and that local residents will likely have to share costs; and
We will pursue these goals in an open and inclusive process.
