2022 Immunization Clinics

The mission of the Sutter County Public Health Immunization Program is to:

• Improve the health of children and adults by providing safe and effective vaccines that prevent sickness and death resulting from disease
• Deliver high quality vaccines in a safe and effective way to all children and adults who require them.

Sutter County Public Health Immunization Clinic hours:

• Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
• Hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
• By APPOINTMENT ONLY. You may make an appointment by calling Sutter County Public Health at (530) 822-7215.

Note: Sutter County does not provide travel vaccines. Please visit the CDC website for more information on necessary vaccines, medications, and travel clinic locations.

Immunizations for Your Child

The best care for your child is to receive immunizations from their pediatrician, because they will have all of your child’s health information. But if there are costs for the vaccine that you can’t afford to pay, your child may be eligible for low or no-cost vaccinations under the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program. To qualify, your child must be 18 years of age or under and be at least one of the following:

• Medicaid (Medi-Cal/CHDP) eligible
• Uninsured: A child who has no health insurance coverage
• American Indian or Alaska Native

Note: Underinsured children who have private health insurance but the coverage does not include vaccines or whose insurance covers only selected vaccines, are eligible to receive VFC vaccine, but only through a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Rural Health Center (RHC), such as Ampla Health, Peach Tree Health, Harmony Health or Feather River Tribal Health.

Flu Vaccine 2022-2023

Flu vaccine remains the single most effective way to prevent the flu and it is very important to get your flu vaccine in addition to washing your hands, covering your cough and staying home when you are sick.

School Immunization Regulations

1. Regulations in effect as of July 1, 2019, for the following:
   Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, school immunization requirements will include:
   
   • Two (rather than 1) doses of chickenpox vaccine at
     
     • Pre-Kindergarten/Transitional Kindergarten (Pre-K) or Kindergarten entry
     • 7th grade advancement
     • Pre-K/K-12 admission or transfer
   • Two MMR doses and 3 Hepatitis B vaccine doses at admission or transfer for most K-12 students
2. Medical Exemptions:
   Starting January 1, 2021:
   • Medical exemptions can only be issued through the California Immunization Registry - Medical Exemptions website (CAIR-ME) by physicians licensed in California. 
   • Schools and child care facilities may only accept from parents new medical exemptions that are issued using CAIR-ME.

3. Personal Belief Exemptions:
   If a child has an expiring personal beliefs exemption prior to attending school on or after July 1, 2019, the child will need to meet all current immunization requirements.

Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Love Them, Protect Them

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) recommends that all new parents, grandparents and those persons who will be around a new infant to be immunized against Pertussis. The vaccine is called Tdap, and provides protection against Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Tetanus and Diphtheria. All pregnant adolescents and women should receive Tdap during each pregnancy (preferred during 27 through 36 weeks gestation) regardless of number of years from prior Td or Tdap vaccination.
